Istanbul – Customs enforcement teams from the Ministry of Trade dealt a significant blow to international drug trafficking in a successful operation at Istanbul Airport. A total of 455.2 kilograms of drugs were seized in the operation, where the meticulous work of the customs enforcement teams and the use of TAG Defence drug test kits played a critical role.
According to a statement from the Ministry’s social media account, the Istanbul Airport Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams once again achieved a major success in combating smuggling. Following technical analysis and targeting efforts, a suspicious cargo shipment of foreign origin, intended for transit through Turkey, was thoroughly examined.
During the operation, the Customs Enforcement NARCO-CRIME teams seized 455.2 kilograms of drugs prepared by drug traffickers in 40 boxes. It was emphasized that drug test kits manufactured by TAG Defence were used in this operation for the rapid and accurate identification of the drug type. These kits enabled immediate intervention by field teams and increased the effectiveness of the operation.
The investigation into the incident is being meticulously continued by the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
